Description: Exciting news from Gotham City! Join Boris Mogilevski (aka Spicy Uke!) for his East Coast debut - A special two-day ukulele event! It's his first time performing and doing a workshop in New York, and he's thrilled to share this experience with you! Gotham City Ukes is so excited to host Boris in the heart of New York City. This 2-day ukulele extravaganza is supported by Kala Brand Ukuleles. Experience an immersive ukulele workshop and intimate concert with special guests in the heart of Manhattan. The workshop's focus is for attendees to learn how to perform together as a "band," resulting in a final performance. We'll record a song together and share it with the world!
This workshop is designed for all skill levels, offering techniques from strumming, fingerstyle, and percussive playing. No matter whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, you don't miss this exclusive opportunity to join Boris, Gotham City Ukes, and friends! on this fun, musical journey in in the heart of NYC!
Timetable: (All times EDT)
Saturday 5 October (Concert day): The event begins at 4 pm and concludes at 6 pm.
Sunday 6 October (Full day workshop): The event begins at 10 am and concludes at 4:30 pm.

What's part of the full-day workshop event? (Sunday 6 October)
Section 1: Exercises, warm-ups, and ear training (rhythm, melodies, chords, percussive ukulele). You will learn the essential tools needed to develop your playing skills and musicality.
Section 2: Fingerstyle, strumming, percussive playing. In this workshop, I will be teaching you 3 main ukulele techniques. I will break it down for you step by step and we will play songs arranged especially for our ukulele group. Each participant will receive a unique part to play.
Section 3: We will focus on how to play with other musicians in a group.
Lunch, snacks and beverages included on the workshop day.

Section 4: Video recording (we would love for you to participate, but it is not required).

Workshop description: The ukulele is often celebrated for its joyous strumming sounds. Yet, there lies a captivating world beyond strumming—one of intricate beauty and expressive potential through fingerpicking.
This workshop is designed to guide you through the enchanting landscape of ukulele fingerpicking patterns, offering a new dimension to your musical expression.
Whether you're a beginner eager to lay a solid foundation or an intermediate player aiming to enrich your repertoire, this workshop will teach you different picking patterns in different time signatures and unlock new possibilities in your playing.
By the end of this workshop, you'll not only have a broadened understanding of ukulele picking patterns but also the confidence to experiment and create your own unique sound. Join us to discover the beautiful intricacies fingerpicking can bring to your music.
Gracie's Bio: Originally from the Washington, DC area, Gracie Terzian is a singer, songwriter, ukulelist, and music educator living in New York City. Her first EP, Saints and Poets, debuted at #23 on the Billboard jazz charts and quickly became the #3 jazz album on iTunes. She has a YouTube channel with over 110k subscribers where she shares educational videos about music theory and the ukulele. She has performed and taught workshops at many ukulele festivals such as the Ukulele Festival of Scotland, New Jersey Uke Fest, Albuquerque Uke Fest, Port Townsend Uke Fest, Midwest Uke & Harmonic Camp, Allegheny Ukulele Festival, and Gaithersburg Uke Fest, among others. Gracie has also worked extensively in theatre and film as an actor and composer.
